APC governors endorse Tinubu for 2027 presidential race

In a display of expected solidarity and political strategy, governors affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) have officially declared their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their candidate for the 2027 presidential election. This endorsement was announced during the APC National Summit, which is currently underway at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.

The endorsement, a unified statement of support, was initiated by Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State. Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State seconded the motion, which was met with enthusiastic applause from party members and key stakeholders in attendance. This move underscores the APC’s commitment to presenting a united front as it gears up for the upcoming election cycle.

Speaking on behalf of the governors, Uzodimma emphasized their dedication to President Tinubu’s leadership and their promise to rally their respective states in support of his re-election bid. He praised Tinubu’s ongoing reforms as transformative and bold, highlighting their importance in building a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

This endorsement follows similar expressions of confidence from APC governors in the North-Central and the entire party in the Northwest, all of whom have acknowledged Tinubu’s developmental achievements and his efforts to promote national unity.
