“Whoever Uses a Satellite Dish Will Not Enter Al Jannah” — Sheikh Al-Ilory Sparks Controversy with Fiery Sermon

Tongues are wagging across Nigeria’s Muslim community after popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Habeebullah Adam Al-Ilory, issued a stern warning against the use of satellite television, declaring it haram and a direct path to h+ll.

In a sermon that has since gone viral, the Mudir of Markaz Agege stated emphatically:
“Whoever uses a satellite dish or installs a satellite dish in the house will not enter Al Jannah when they d+e because it’s a haram. It’s a written law.”

To reinforce his point, Sheikh Habeebullah presented written documents during his sermon, claiming they outlined the moral dangers associated with satellite TV and how it contradicts Islamic teachings.

The controversial statement has drawn mixed reactions. Supporters hailed the cleric for upholding religious values in an increasingly permissive digital age. However, critics argue that rejecting satellite technology altogether is impractical and extreme, especially in a world where access to information and education is often mediated through such platforms.

Sheikh Habeebullah, son of the revered Islamic scholar Sheikh Adam Abdullah Al-Ilory, remains a leading voice of Islamic conservatism in Nigeria.
