The 17-track project is already a certified hit, amassing a staggering 9.3 million streams in Nigeria alone on its first day, making it the most streamed album in a single day on Spotify Nigeria this year.
Globally, 5ive clocked 15.03 million streams within 24 hours, securing the second-biggest global opening day for an African album, trailing only Wizkid’s Morayo (2024) with 16.27 million streams. The album’s impact was immediate and far-reaching, hitting #1 on Apple Music in 19 countries, including Nigeria, Ireland, Kenya, and Qatar, and charting in 87 others.
Davido, who first teased the project on Instagram in December 2024, described 5ive as “a new chapter of personal growth and global connection.” Recorded between 2023 and 2025 across studios in Lagos, London, and Los Angeles, 5ive delivers an eclectic mix of sounds and features a diverse lineup of collaborators including YG Marley, Odumodublvck, Chike, Omah Lay, Victony, Shenseea, and 450.
The album rollout was preceded by four singles — Awuke, Funds, Be There Still, and Offa Me — each receiving critical acclaim and commercial success.
