Atiku’s Running Mate Ifeanyi Okowa Defects to APC as PDP Collapses Structure in Delta

In a major political realignment, former Delta State Governor and 2023 PDP vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in Delta State.

Okowa made the move alongside his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and several top PDP stakeholders following an enlarged meeting of party leaders held in Asaba on Wednesday.

The announcement was made during a press conference addressed by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu. He was joined by Senator James Manager, one of PDP’s founding members, as they confirmed that the party’s political framework in the state had been fully integrated into the APC.

According to Aniagwu, Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to formally receive Governor Oborevwori and the defecting PDP members into the APC at a ceremony in Asaba next Monday.
