Oyo Guber Hopeful Kolawole Asanike Urges Peace and Unity in Good Friday Message

Prince Kolawole Asanke, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and a prince of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Yesufu Asanke, has extended his heartfelt Good Friday greetings to Christians across the country, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, and renewal symbolized by the day.

In a press release issued on Friday, April 18, Prince Asanke called on the Christian faithful to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ, whose crucifixion and resurrection are commemorated during the Easter season.

He emphasized that Good Friday serves as a solemn reminder of the power of faith, unity, and hope, especially in times of national uncertainty.

“As Christians observe Good Friday, I encourage them to draw strength from the message of sacrifice and redemption. Nigeria needs healing, and this season offers us a unique opportunity to recommit ourselves to peace, forgiveness, and collective progress,” he said.

Prince Asanike, who hails from Ibadan South East Local Government Area, is also a professional accountant and a rising political figure in the state. He is currently gearing up as an aspirant for the 2027 gubernatorial election under the APC banner. His recent engagements and community outreach efforts have further deepened his ties with the grassroots and strengthened his political momentum.

He also used the occasion to urge Nigerians, regardless of faith, to unite in the face of common challenges and to remain optimistic about the country’s future.

“This season reminds us that after every trial, there is triumph. Let us stay hopeful and work together to build a better Oyo State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
