The Oyo State Government has officially unveiled the final nominees for the 2025 Most Impactful Young Persons Award, with Taiwo Isiaka, a University of Ibadan student and a trailblazer in renewable energy and sustainability, making the prestigious shortlist in the category of Entrepreneurship.
Announced by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the award—under the theme “Unlocking Youth Potential; Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams”—celebrates young individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 who have demonstrated excellence, innovation, and transformative impact in their communities. The initiative, supported by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, is part of the state’s commitment to recognizing youth-led contributions to Oyo State’s development.
Taiwo Isiaka, the Chief Executive Director of The Trills Consulting, has emerged as one of the state’s standout young entrepreneurs. With over four years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Isiaka has led numerous solar and energy-efficiency projects, positioning his company as a pioneer in sustainable power solutions for underserved communities.
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Ibadan, Taiwo has earned several recognitions, including the Nigeria 25Under25 Award in Energy and Sustainability, entrepreneurship awards from SEEES and TESA (UI), and the FOPA Innovation and Creativity Award by JCI UI.
Speaking on the importance of the award, the Ministry noted that this year’s nominees reflect a new generation of leaders and innovators who are reshaping the state’s future. “The initiative aims not only to celebrate excellence but also to inspire a broader culture of innovation, resilience, and impact among Oyo State’s youth,” the ministry said.
The public voting phase is expected to open soon, with the final award ceremony scheduled to hold later in the year. Residents of Oyo State and Nigerians nationwide have been urged to actively participate in supporting young changemakers like Isiaka.
Taiwo’s growing influence can also be followed through his consultancy’s digital platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn under The Trills Consulting. His work continues to inspire a generation of eco-conscious entrepreneurs seeking practical, sustainable solutions for Nigeria’s energy challenges.
