Tears, Tributes as Funeral Service Holds for Late Ajimobi’s Daughter, Abisola, in Lagos

The funeral service of Abisola Kola-Daisi, the eldest daughter of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, was held on Thursday, April 17, at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Trinity Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The solemn event drew a gathering of dignitaries, including the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, among others.

 

Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a tribute shared via his X (formerly Twitter) account, described the late Abisola as a woman whose “warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit touched many,” adding that her absence would be deeply felt. “My thoughts and prayers are with her family as they navigate this painful time. May her soul rest in peace,” he wrote.

Speaker Ogundoyin also paid his respects, emphasizing the lasting impact Abisola had on those around her. “May we continue to uphold the values of empathy and kindness that she embodied during her lifetime,” he noted.

According to the family’s burial arrangements, a private interment followed the church service.

Abisola passed away on March 27, 2025, in London after a brief illness at the age of 44. She is survived by her husband, Kolapo Kola-Daisi, and their three children.

The late Abisola, remembered for her grace and compassion, was mourned deeply by family, friends, and associates across political and social circles.
