Tension is brewing in Nollywood as popular actress Laide Bakare has vowed to take action against fellow star Eniola Badmus, following a heated exchange that spilled from a movie premiere into a full-blown social media feud.
The drama, which reportedly began at the premiere of Ajanaku: Owanbe Thieves on Sunday, escalated on Monday when Bakare took to Instagram to share a private message allegedly sent by Badmus. In the message, Badmus wrote: “Don’t bring your terrible animalistic behaviour around me. Stay farrrrrrrr.”
Outraged by the comment, Bakare responded publicly, posting a screenshot of the message alongside a scathing caption accusing Badmus of ingratitude and betrayal. She claimed she was instrumental in launching Badmus’s career at a time when others allegedly shunned her due to her appearance.
“I gave you your first major role in life when no one wanted to associate with you because of your ugly looks and obesity,” Bakare wrote. “I spent my hard-earned money on an ingrate like you, and all you could pay me back with is to call me Animal? Haaa! ENIOLA! Almighty God will judge you, Insha Allah. You just started what you cannot finish, and I promise you must collect.”
The fiery outburst has stirred strong reactions across social media, with fans and industry insiders taking sides in what’s quickly becoming one of Nollywood’s most talked-about celebrity feuds of the year.
As of press time, Eniola Badmus has not issued a public response to the accusations.
