Nollywood drama intensified on Thursday as veteran actress Opeyemi Aiyeola publicly lambasted fellow actress Eniola Badmus over a comment made on Instagram, describing Badmus as a “zombie” and accusing her of body-shaming hypocrisy.
The heated exchange began after Badmus left a comment on one of Aiyeola’s Instagram videos, asking, “Ope, where is your front hair?” Aiyeola, clearly upset, took to Instagram in a video response, calling the remark insensitive and uncalled-for.
“Social media is full of people who have lost their humanity,” Aiyeola began. “But I chose to respond to Eniola Badmus because, coming from her, this comment is particularly shocking.”
Referencing Badmus’ own past struggles with body shaming, Aiyeola expressed disbelief that someone who had once been subjected to online ridicule would mock another colleague’s appearance.
“You, Eniola, used to be the poster girl for online bullying and body-shaming,” Aiyeola said in the video. “Now that you’ve transformed yourself physically, you think it’s okay to put down others? That’s pure ignorance.”
The actress didn’t hold back as she called Badmus “a zombie” for lacking empathy and described her as someone who should know better, especially given her new role in politics.
“You’ve been entrusted with a political position, and young people look up to you. But what do you show them? Pettiness, judgment, and no conscience,” Aiyeola declared. “I pity anyone who calls you a friend.”
Aiyeola further claimed that she and Badmus rarely interact online, and that Badmus had never supported or promoted her work in the past. “You’ve never liked my videos, never celebrated me. So why now? Why choose this moment to try and ridicule me publicly?”
She concluded the emotional video by thanking fans who showed concern and reiterated that she’s confident in her identity.
“To those suggesting treatments or solutions, I appreciate your love, but I don’t need it. I’m beautifully and wonderfully made,” she said. “Whether my hair grows back or not, whether I gain weight or lose it, I remain me.”
As of the time of reporting, Eniola Badmus has not responded to the allegations or issued any statement regarding the viral confrontation.
The social media clash has since gone viral, sparking conversations about cyberbullying, body image, and the responsibility of public figures in online spaces.
