A young woman has taken to social media to demand justice after a police officer allegedly stabbed her father during a confrontation in their home in Ise-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
In a series of emotional videos that have since gone viral, the woman claimed that the officer—reportedly a personal orderly to a local government chairman—attacked her father following a dispute involving her younger brother and a female classmate.
The altercation allegedly began when the classmate reported an argument to her boyfriend, who then returned with two police officers. According to the woman, the officers attempted to arrest her older brother, but when their father intervened, one of the officers drew a knife and stabbed him in the abdomen.
“This person who actually stabbed my dad is a police officer who works here in Ise Orun,” she said in one video, showing her father lying in a hospital bed. “My dad almost lost his life yesterday.”
She expressed frustration that no arrests had been made, accusing the police of shielding the suspect because of his status within the force. “They say they can’t arrest him because he’s a police officer. But if it were me or my brother, we’d already be in jail,” she added.
In further clips recorded at a police station and the scene of the incident, she directly confronted officers, accusing them of covering up the attack. “This guy has done this before. Everyone here complains about him. And yet he’s still working.”
She called on President Bola Tinubu, the Commissioner of Police, and the general public to intervene, saying, “Nigeria is failing us. Please help us get justice.”
The Ekiti State Police Command has not officially commented on the incident as of the time of reporting.
