A popular TikToker, Gold Ike, better known as EveryDayWithGold, recently threw a vibrant party to celebrate a remarkable achievement: becoming the first woman to board an airplane in her community. The celebration, which took place on Sunday, was a joyous occasion marked by community members coming together to honor her groundbreaking accomplishment.
Gold Ike, who is widely recognized for her TikTok videos where she peels cassava and prepares garri, shared the exciting news with her followers during a livestream. In the video, she was seen serving traditional Nigerian dishes such as jollof rice and white rice to the local residents who joined her in the celebration. A banner displayed at the event read: “The first woman to enter a plane in my community.”
Expressing gratitude for the support she received, Ike said, “I want to use this medium to thank everyone for appreciating the record I broke and the award I won. It was not easy. And I see all your nice comments, the love was massive. We all enjoyed ourselves yesterday. We merry and dined yesterday. Thank you all for celebrating me.”
The TikToker, who had recently traveled to Lagos for a gig, flew with Air Peace for the first time. She shared more about her experience, explaining how she had no traffic issues during her trip to Lagos. “It is time to check out of the hotel, I’m done packing my bags. It’s good to see what Lagos looks like. I’m all dressed and flying back to my community now. I didn’t finish my breakfast. And I’m glad I didn’t experience any traffic which could have made me miss my flight,” she said, recounting her adventure.
