We’re Putting Together New 2025 Budget For Rivers – Ibas

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has confirmed that a new appropriation bill for 2025 is in the works, focusing on critical sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure. Speaking during a meeting with Rivers State lawmakers at Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Ibas emphasized the importance of creating job opportunities and improving technological delivery in public life.

“We are putting together a new budget that will address the needs of healthcare, education, social services, and infrastructure,” Ibas stated. “Our goal is to ensure that we do not lose any more time in making necessary investments that will improve the lives of citizens.”

The budget, which is being expedited, aims to stabilize the state’s economy and provide employment opportunities for the people of Rivers. Ibas stressed the necessity of collaboration with the National Assembly representatives from Rivers State to secure the resources needed for these developments.

“Your partnership is critical to success in ensuring that Rivers State remains on the path of progress and enduring peace for future generations,” Ibas stated, addressing the lawmakers.

Senator Barinada Mpigi, who led the delegation, pledged to support the administration’s efforts to restore law and order in the state and ensure lasting peace.

Ibas also highlighted that since assuming office, his administration has worked tirelessly to restore peace and order with the support of security agencies. “We are determined to strengthen the bond of unity in Rivers State and foster an environment where every citizen feels valued, heard, and respected,” he concluded.
